Martin Sullivan
Production Design / Art Direction
Martin is a production designer and art director with over 30 years experience in the film industry. He started his career in Los Angeles
In 1986 aged 23 working with directors including David Fincher, Nigel Dick and Mark Romanek at Propaganda films for artists including Madonna, REM, U2, Prince, Sting, Nine Inch Nails and The Traveling Wilburys.
Returning to the UK in 1990, Martin studied film at the NSFTV, Leeds Metropolitan University, gaining a Post Graduate MA in Film Studies in 1993.
He then joined the award winning art direction studio Transformer, where he went on to art direct a number of acclaimed and award winning MV’s and TVC’s over the next decade. Artist’s included Elton John, Deep Forest, Meatloaf, Queen and The Corr’s.
Commercials included work for Sony Playstation, The Sunday Times, Intel Pentium, Wrigley, Malibu and Kellogg’s.
Martin relocated to Italy in 2003 and set up a company with his partners restoring historic properties and remodeling the interiors.
After a number of successful renovation’s but with a downturn in the market in Europe, Martin relocated to Dubai in 2008. Keeping close ties with his local Italian partners, Martin still resides in Italy when outside the Middle East.
Based in Dubai for the last 10 years, Martin has worked on numerous TVC’s including work with RSA London, Filmworks, Boomtown and Channel 4. More recently he has been appointed as Local Art Director on feature films including, Universal Pictures FF7 and Sony Entertainment’s Deliver us from Evil.
Production Design credit’s include Image Nation’s Sea Shadow,
and Scales. Independent features as Production Designer include The Letter Writer and How I got there, both now in post production.
Martin is a founding partner of Lulie Fisher Design Studio which was established in 2016 and continues to work in film with a strong team of Art Dept. and Film professional’s (refer associates). He continues to relish the challenges of the region and always works passionately to deliver to the highest standards.
